Hi my name is Ian and welcome to the Sunandthreestars travel blog

A blog full of experiences, advice, reviews, photos and videos of all my travels. Including news, hotel and airline reviews.

I’m a travel and aviation enthusiast, who has travelled to many places, experiencing various different culture. Basing between two different countries in England (where I grew, live and work) and Philippines (the motherland) I travel to a variety of places. Started travelling as a young teenager when I excursed to Hong Kong, I knew going on travelling was for me.Β  I venture to many different places experiencing the variety, from richer more developed nations and also poorer regions across the world. I stay in both high end and lower budget hotels and try different events and activities.

All my experiences are valuable and the reason why I decided to make this blog.

  1. My partner and I were bumped up to business class (which is the same as first class) on a flight to New Zealand recently. It was the first time I’ve been genuinely comfortable on a long flight. I think I’m spoiled forever.

  2. β€œYou only get one life, its actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.” I LOVE this! While I do not get to travel as often as I would like, I try to experience something new each and every day, to do something that puts me out of my comfort zone. Thank you so much for sharing your travels and allowing me to see the world through your lens.

    1. Good question, apart from my home countries Philippines and UK.
Peru was unbelievable especially in cusco and machu picchu. It was like being in a movie. Japan had its good and bads, but their people, food and hospitality were amazing.

  3. Hi Ian, I really enjoyed your introduction. I’m a huge avgeek too, and Emirates is my favorite airline as well! I want to work for Emirates in the future. Aircraft Engineering seems like an awesome topic to study. Can’t wait to read more!

  4. Ian, thanks for stopping by my blog. You have something in common with my hubby. He also works for the airlines in Europe. You know aviation is a disease? Really it is! LOL
After 11 years with my hubby I still get a 737 and a A330 mixed up and all the hubby does is shakes his head at me. But, then he has over 32 years of experience. Cool places you have travelled to and I am following to see what other adventures you are up to. Safe travels!

    1. Thanks very much for your kind comment, i really appreciate it… Aviation is very addictive lol… I also saw your blog and was and was impressively unique. I guess you also base between two countries which is good for ease of travels. I have never stepped foot into the United States and the Netherlands even though its right next to the UK… Maybe I could get some travel advice in the future :)… thanks again and i look forward to reading more of your blog…

      1. My travel advise is always free and could be aviation focused as I think my hubby has been to every museum and air show within NL and we have always hit the ones close to where we travel in the US. Are you interested in military aviation too? We both have been to the UK a few times. My ancestors came from the Durham area of UK.
